#111 Simon Belcher & #142 Kasidit Teeraprateep We are the Champions of Poland!

It was such a grand opening of the season at the world championship waterjet tournament, "WGP#1 Waterjet World Series 2023" Round 1 between 18-21 May 2023, at Mechelinkie City, Poland. In the PRO Sport GP and PRO Runabout 1,100 Open, #111 Simon Belcher and #142 Kasidit Teeraprateep delivered a great performance as the champions of Poland.

In the PRO Sport GP, 3 UK riders were competing for the championship in this class, #111 Simon Belcher, #158 James Bushell and #143 Kyle Horton. In Moto 1, #111 Simon Belcher started first, followed by #143 Kyle Horton and #158 James Bushell were chasing close behind. Halfway through the race, it turned out that #143 Kyle Horton missed a buoy and had to go back and fix it. This brought #158 James Bushel back to the game and overtook #111 Simon Belche to take the lead instead. But then something unexpected happened! #158 James Bushell’s watercraft broke down and had to slow down when passing in front of the tower. At the end, #111 Simon Belcher won in this moto, followed by #2 and #3 that went to #143 Kyle Horton and #158 James Bushell, respectively.

#158 James Bushell, after his boat crashed in moto 1, came back to full form, winning moto 2 and leaving no chance to the others to catch up. Second and third places then went to #111 Simon Belcher and #143 Kyle Horton.

When it came to the final scores of this class, #111 Simon Belcher won “WGP #1 Waterjet World Series 2023” Round 2, Mechelinki - Poland, with 173 points. He was followed by#158 James Bushell and #143 Kyle Horton who claimed the 2nd and 3rd positions on the podium, respectively.

In the PRO Runabout 1,100 Open, #176 Valentina Lezcano, rider from the USA, and #58 Supap Pulsopa, a Thai rider, were strong rivals to be the champion in this class. But when Moto 1 started, it turned out that the 21-year-old, a rising star from Thailand, #142 Kasidit Teeraprateep became a “Dark Horse”. He rode with an unbelievable performance, taking the lead from start to finish, and won the 1st Moto. The 2nd and 3rd places went to Polish rider #108 Juliusz Roman and #58 Supap Pulsopa, respectively.

In Moto 2 and Final Moto, #26 Louie Buhisan, a Filipino rider, bounced from the setback in the first moto that saw his watercraft crashed. He finished both motos as the winner and #142 Kasidit Teeraprateep came in second place in both motos as well.

But in the overall scores of 3 motos, a rising star from Thailand, #142 Kasidit Teeraprateep, defeated #26 Louie Buhisan to win the “WGP #1 Waterjet World Series 2023” Round 1 - Poland, and 3rd place went to #108 Juliusz Roman.
