WGP#1 WATERJET ASIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS 2024 Round 1-OSAKA, JAPAN

#77 Ou Moeut Saly & #45 Suphathat Footrakul The Winners of "Siam Watercraft - WGP#1 Asian Championships 2024”- Japan

#77 Ou Moeut Saly, a Cambodian rider, and #45 Suphathat Footrakull from Thailand are the pride of ASEAN after winning the Waterjet Asian Championship Tournament, "Siam Watercraft - WGP#1 Asian Championships 2024”, Round 1 at Osaka - Japan, between 6-9 June 2024. This year more than 200 top riders from 17 countries participated in the tournament in Asia, Europe, America and Oceania.

In the opening season round, SPORT GP, the favorite to win is Japanese rider #76 Johishiroh Katano, former World Champion of the "WGP#1 Waterjet World Series 2019". After the start of Moto 1, it‘s a battle between #77 Ou Moeut Saly, and #T9 Teerapat Meechai, a rising star from Thailand. Unfortunately, #T9 Teerapat Meechai's watercraft had problems. #77 Ou Moeut Saly grabbed the chance to overtake and cross the finish line in 1st, followed by #76 Johishiroh Katano in 2nd.


In Moto 2 and Final Moto, #77 Ou Moeut Saly was still in top form, driving confidently to snatch the victory in both motos. #76 Johishiroh Katano come in 2nd as expected.

For the Overall Score, the winner of the SPORT GP was #77 Ou Moeut Saly, collecting a full 180 points and making a perfect game. Two Japanese riders, #76 Johishiroh Katano and #69 Kenshiro Tabato went to the podium in 2nd and 3rd, respectively.





PRO-AM RUNABOUT 1100 OPEN was a clash between the latest “WGP#1 Waterjet World Series” Champion, #26 Louie Buhisan, Filipino rider, and the latest “WGP#1 Waterjet World Cup” Champion, #45 Suphathat Footrakul from Thailand.

But in Motos 1 and 2, it turned out to be a battle between two Thai riders, #142 Kasidit Teeraprateep and #45 Suphathat Footrakul. In the end, #45 Suphathat Footrakul still showed his great championship performance, crossing the finish line first. After him was #142 Kasidit Teeraprateep’s in 2nd in both motos as well.

The Final Moto was such a nail biting race. When starting out, #142 Kasidit Teeraprateep took the lead sending #45 Suphathat Footrakul to 3rd place. At the end, #142 Kasidit Teeraprateep made no mistake and crossed the finish line first, while #45 Suphathat Footrakul chased up to finish in 2nd place.

For the overall score of the 3 motos, PRO-AM RUNABOUT 1100 OPEN, the two riders from Thailand stood proud on the podium, with #45 Suphathat Footraku winning the championship in this class and #142 Kasidit Teeraprateep won the 2nd place. The 3rd place went to #26 Louie Buhisan.
