WGP#1 WATERJET WORLD SERIES 2025 - ROUND 1, JAPAN │ 15-18 MAY 2025

The global jet ski spotlight returns as the “WGP#1 Waterjet World Series 2025” and the “WGP#1 Waterjet Asian Championships 2025” prepare to kick off the season in spectacular fashion. Held under a Thai-owned international license, this premier tournament series has established itself as a world leader in watercraft racing.

The season opener is set for May 15–18, 2025, at Nishikinohama Beach, Osaka, Japan — famously known as the “Kitchen of Japan.” The event will gather over 200 elite riders from 21 countries, making it the most globally represented waterjet competition in history. The race will be broadcast live to 121 countries worldwide, underscoring the event’s prestige and global reach.

As the host nation, Japan leads the field with 109 competitors, headlined by reigning Asian Champion Toshi “Samurai” Ohara, Hajime Isahai, 2020 World Champion, Johichiroh Katano, 2021 World Champion and two-time Freestyle World Champion, Taiji Yamamoto. Thailand, the proud originator of the WGP#1 franchise, will be represented by 33 riders, including reigning World Champion Kasidit Teeraprateep, current World Cup title holder Supathat Footrakul. Including, Austrian star #90 Kevin Reiterer, 2 Dangerous Kuwaiti Champions #38 Mohammed Albaz and #66 Mohammed Burbayea, along with other International World-class riders such as #111 Jayden Richardson (Australia), #5 Gyorgy Kasza (Hungary), James Wilson and Caris Webster (USA).
